The seventies - Technology and big projects
With the development of technology, the exhaustion of some quarries in this area, the possibility to access new materials and the initial globalisation of the demand, the extractive activity sharply decreased leaving a scope for the industrial and artisan production.

The growing request of public urban modernisation at the beginning of the seventies, the desire to improve and embellish the interior of the homes with furniture and decorations in elaborate materials for private individuals lead to the strategic turning-point of the company

The most important customers include the public sector and the big companies commissioning big contracts, which started to use outsourcing techniques in order to ensure flexibility and observance of the delivery time.

At that time, the private sector was at the dawning of renovation and household means were rather limited. Private demand appealed to the new industrial (types of tiles) or textile (moquette) materials at the time: stone was considered as an old and foregone material since it had always been present in family houses.

At that time, the activity of Mergozzo Graniti was mainly national.
