Red Granite has a special red hue and is extracted in
Finland.
The project required the realisation of an external
fountain for the Municipality of Berlin with a diameter
greater than 2,50 m.: An unusually big size! The complexity
of the project was the capacity to find the appropriate
material in a single block, organise its transportation
with special means from Finland to Italy to be worked
and from Italy to Germany to be laid.
In the laboratory of Mergozzo it was worked according
to the project, assembled temporarily in order to check
all the pieces to be assembled on site and then transported
in separate pieces to Berlin for the final assembly.
The two shelves of the fountain housed special drains
in order to allow the water to flow.
The column was hollow and was used as a watertight
housing for the electric and electronic instrumentation
for the operation of the pump for water movement.
